Foskey’s household in Frazier District 1503, Pulaski County, Georgia with her sons Burrell, Miles B. Jr, Robert L., Emmett W., and daughters Fannie and Hazel. Maggie was 40 years old and had been married 16 years. 1920 Census Maggie L Foskey was enumerated as head of household in Militia District 1503, Bleckley County, Georgia with her sons Burrell, Emmett, Howard and William, and daughters Hazel and Doris. Maggie L. was 45 years old, and married. She and both parents were born in Georgia. She was a farm laborer. “Mrs. M.L. Foskey Laid to Rest Last Friday “The sad death of Mrs. M. L. Foskey who quietly passed away on last Thursday afternoon at her home five miles from Cochran has cast a shadow of gloom over the entire community. She was 52 years of age, and was confined to her bed for only a few days prior to her death, though she had been in declining health for a year of more. “Mrs. Foskey was a woman loved by those in her community, a devoted mother and a good Christian woman with all the patience and endurance that one could possess. Her home was a place where her friends liked to visit on account of the woman therein who always welcomed them with a warmth and sincerity that immediately made them feel at ease. “The funeral was conducted by Elder Chance by the graveside at the Wynne burying grounds Friday afternoon at 4:00 o’clock. A host of friends and relatives were present at the funeral of this widely esteemed and universally beloved woman. “She is survived by eight children --five sons: Myles of New York; Emmett of Greenville SC; Robert, Howard and Bill of Bleckley county; three daughters: Mrs. W. M. Smith and Misses Hazel and Doris of Bleckley county; two brothers: R.M. and J.C. Wynne of Sycamore; two sisters: Mrs. R.J. James of Toombs county, and Mrs. J.W. Truitt of Cochran.” References
