Obituary

Departed this life, at Burlington, on Monday the 8th inst. Lydia, the wife of Mr. John Burleson, and oldest child of David Goff, Esq., of a long painful illness, which she bore with patience and fortitude, being towards the last of her sickness, perfectly resigned to the will of God, and confident in her hopes of a better resurrection. She was almost 31 years of age -- of a tender, mild, humane disposition; very kind to all in distress; benevolent and friendly to her neighbors. She was a prudent wife, a tender mother, and an obedient and affectionate child. She lived beloved, and died lamented by all her acquaintance. She has left a disconsolate husband, one motherless little son and afflicted parents, a very aged grandparent, four brothers, one sister, and a number of other near friends, relations and acquaintance to lament her death. May the Lord sanctify the dispensation to her friends that survive.
