    SUFFERINGS OF MRS. M'LUEN END
Pioneer Resident of the City Passed Away at Home Early This Morning

Mrs. William McLuen, whose health has been such as to alarm the members of the family and friends for several weeks, passed away shortly after midnight this morning at the family home. Mrs. McLuen has been poorly for several years and while it was known that there was little hope of her recovery, the end came suddenly and was a shock to all. She was a sufferer from Bright's disease and complications.
According to arrangements completed this morning, the funeral services will be held at the Methodist church tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. Rev. A.T. Bishop will be in charge.
Mrs. McLuen has been a resident of the community for over fifty years, coming here in 1868 from Mahaska county where she was born seventy years ago. Her maiden name was Lydia Elliott and she was one of a family of eleven children, four of whom are now living. They are: John Elliott, of Redfield, Will Elliott of Des Moines, Mrs. Alfred Rhodes, who live in California and Mrs. George Wilcox of Perry.
For many years Mr. and Mrs. McLuen have been identified with Perry affairs. They were married in 1871 and their home has been here nearly all of the time. Eight children were born to them and six of them, with the father, survive. They are: Mrs. Iva Rhinehart, of Aurora, Nebraska; Harry C. McLuen of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Daisy Gilchrist, of Ft. Dodge; Ward McLuen of Coburg, Montana; Blanch McLuen and Mrs. Clayton West of Perry.
