Louise Edwards was born on 10th May 1883 at Pagham in Sussex, daughter of a dressmaker named Fanny Edwards, formerly Grant, and her husband William Edwards, a traction engine driver. Louise was the ninth of the couple's ten children. She appears in the 1891 census living with her parents and siblings at Pagham. In the 1901 census Louise and her sister Lily appear to have been visiting their brother Fred and his wife Florence, who were boarding at a house in Midhurst.

Family group, possibly for Louise's sister Theresa's marriage in 1908 - Louise is thought to be one of the two ladies in white (bridesmaids?).

By 1911, Louise was living back with her parents, who were by then living at Runcton in the parish of North Mundham. She was described as a dressmaker, following her mother's old trade. In 1916 Louise travelled up to Glapthorn in Northamptonshire, some 130 miles north of Runcton, to witness her youngest brother Alfred's marriage.

Louise never married. Her mother Fanny died in 1925 at North Mundham.

By 1933, Louise was living at 46 Queen Street in Littlehampton with her father. William died there on 22nd October 1933. Louise continued living at 46 Queen Street Littlehampton for the rest of her life. She was living there at the outbreak of the Second World War with her sister Lily, who also never married. They had a nine-year old girl living with them, who appears to have been from London and so was quite likely an evacuee.

Louise died on 1st July 1955 at Worthing Hospital, aged 72. She was buried back at Littlehampton. Her estate (valued at £179 3s.) was administered by her sister Lily.
