    Louisa H Meacham Green

Louisa H. Meacham, daughter of Daniel and Emily Meacham, was born in Mansfield, NY, Nov 18, 1842. At the age of 18, she was married to Charles Green with whom she lived in Mansfield until his death in 1904. For the past eight years she has had her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bessie Norton of Orlando. She passed away, Feb. 20, 1916, being nearly 74 years of age.

Though her years were so many, she is the first of her family to answer the summons, being survived by a brother, Lewis D. Meacham of Machias, and by five sisters: Mrs. Roena Chamberlain of Ashford, Mrs. America Leyman of West Valley, Mrs. David Milks of Killbuck, Mrs. Altie Chamberlain of Little Valley. and Mrs. Josephine Williams of Springville. She is also survived by all of her children: Mrs. Lucy Gogel of Ellicottville, Othniel Green of Mansfield, Mrs. William Laing of Mansfield, Benjamin Green of Bliss, and Mrs. Bessie Norton, her daughter whose care ministered to her needs in the closing years of her life.

Mrs. Green had been in feeble health for some time but passed away quite suddenly and without prolonged sickness. Her funeral, held at Maples school house Feb 23d, brought to the home neighborhood a large circle of relatives and was largely attended by sympathizing friends of the community. The services were in charge of the Rev. E.A. Overton of Ellicottville; music was furnished by the Maples quartet. Interment was at Maples
