Personal Information

Judging from census records, Louisa and her mother Dicey apparently lived with Dicey's parents Abraham and Mary Butler Naish following Dicey's divorce from Benjamin Essman Jr. Louisa may even have been born after divorce proceedings had begun. Dicey married a second time when Louisa was 9 or 10, to William Wyatt who already had several children of his own. Louisa remained with her grandparents and lived with them until her own marriage. Dicey and her Wyatt family lived in the same community with the Naishes and the Butlers, as did Louisa and her family after her marriage to Walter Hinton.
