Since there was an older sister named Laura who lived, this is presumed to be, at best, confusion caused by misinterpreting the name Loren, and therefore, that there was only one such child, and no twins. Without primary records, the fact that different death dates are given, suggests Belknap relied on correspondents who had imperfect records, which seems consistent with the quality of his work, though he does not indicate his sources.]
