Email from a Lloyd Jackson rec'd 25 Jan 2006 (no known relationship):
"My interest in Lloyd L. stems from an incident a few months ago at a Civil War show that I attended. A friend came up to me and said there was something in the next room I need to see. I went with him and he picked up a beautiful sword and handed it to me. I am not really a sword collector but he said "look at the inscription". The inscription is "Lloyd L. Jackson". I had to have it for the name alone! So since then I have been doing research on Lloyd L. of Baltimore. I know he was a mover/shaker in Baltimore as he was president of the Manufactuers and Retailers Assn. and was in charge of the 20th century celebrations in that city. He must have had some military association as he wrote to the Sec. of War requesting all Federal troops be ordered to parade for the event! I don't think Lloyd L. was regular army but may have been Maryland National Guard."
