She said she married in the same year that her father died. She remembered husband's father as French but mother very Irish. Said Sutton Jackman home had resevoir at back. She attended the "Academy" in Sutton - two storey brick.

1917 Montreal; Elfrida appears to have been married prior to Coutu; Drouin collection for Montreal, Christ Church, folio 14, page 29: Albert Marshall of the city of Montreal, bachelor, and Alfreda Lillian Jackman of the village of Sutton, in the Province of Quebec, spinster, were married by authority of license on the 1st day of March, 1917 by me Harold S. Laws, Chaplain 244th ___ Batt. C.E.F. This marriage was solemnized between us [signed]: Albert Marshall & Elfrida Lillian Jackman. Witnesses present [signed]: Lindsay Calbeck & Lillian Drew.

1993 Unknown newspaper: COUTU, Elfrida (nee Jackman). Peacefully at the Argenteuil Hospital, Lachute, Quebec, on Wednesday March 17,1993, at the age of ninety-three years. Beloved wife of the late Alfred Coutu, of Montreal, dear mother of Marguerite Hall of Lachute. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral service Friday, March 19, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the J.P. Mackimmie Funeral Home, 660 Main St., Lachute. Thence to Mount Royal Cemetery for cremation.
