Capt Johnson was in the War of 1812 and a son of a veteran of the Revolution, was a member of the large landholding French Hugenot family of that name of the Eastern Shore MD.

Levi took up home in Clinton Co., IA

After the death of Mary in 1863-Levi moved to Beresford, SD in 1885 & remarried, Lidyia (Townsend ?) unsure of spellling, d. 1905
