    "Levi Bronson Jr. is the first descendant known to have changed spelling from Brownson to Brunson. He was a Private in 1777 in the Connecticut State Troops - Revolutionary War. Served for 6 months. Listed in the National Archives Records, Series M-804, Roll 0383 (Pension Papers).
    'Jackson Township was formed from a portion of Plymouth in 1844, and was named in honor of General Andrew Jackson. The first settlement was made by Palmer Ransom in 1795. He was followed by John Lamoreaux, Levi Brunson, Jesse Brown, Major B. Fuller, Joseph Reynolds, and others.' (Annals of Luzerne County, by Stewart Pearce, 1866, p. 203)
    Between 1799 and 1815 he migrated to Plymouth Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Levi is mentioned as 'joining the community' between 1795 and 1830 in 'History of Luzerne, Lackawanna and Wyoming Counties 1786 to 1880.'
    Both Levi and wife Mary died in 1835, and were buried in Bronson Cemetery, Jackson Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania on homestead (aka Berger Estate), Hillside Road (Chase). Cemetery is a 1/2 acre plot given by Levi Brunson Jr. as stated in his will for family burial ground." (Tishler)

    "The Will of LEVI BRUNSON, Will Book 'A', p. 464
    Know all men by these presents that I, Levi Brunson of the township of Plymouth County of Luzerne and state of Pennsylvania being weak in body but of sound and disposable mind memory and understanding and considering the uncertainty of life and being desirous of settling my worldly affairs do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit, Principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named and to such worldly estate as it has pleased God to bless me in this world I give and do dispose of the same in the following manner to wit:
    1st I give and bequeath to my heirs jointly and severally one half acre of ground to be appropriated for the use and purpose of a family burying ground including the piece which now is and has been occupied by me as such the remainder to be selected by them on either side of the same where they shall think proper.
    2nd I give and bequeath to Miner Carle for and in consideration of services rendered to me by Silas Miner the following described property the farm on which I now live Including part of lot No. 49 & 51 in the fifth division Of lots in the township of Plymouth and part of lot No. 2 & 4 in the first division of lots in said township supposed to contain eight acres be the same more or less with all the rights privileges (illegible) of the same subject to the following condition viz:
    the said Miner Carle is to pay over or cause to be paid to each of my daughters Elizabeth Davenport, Sarah Carle, Polly Campbell, Amanda Rogers and Lorenda Brunson thirty dollars each to be paid in five annual payments that is to say in one year after my decease thirty dollars to be paid and so on until the whole is canceled and to my sons David Brunson, Clark Brunson, Ira Brunson and Palmer Brunson one dollar each to be paid at my decease or as soon as a settlement can conveniently be made all my personal property to be applied to the payment of my debts and if anything should remain after the debt are settled, the balance to be divided among the heirs, and I do hereby constitute John P. Rice and Miner Carle to be Executors of this my last will and testament. In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Plymouth aforesaid the twenty second day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five.
