    11 Nov 1954, p 1 - MRS. GEORGE E. CALLAWAY. Mrs. Leona Callaway, whose husband, George Callaway, former Cambridge City merchant, killed their mentally retarded 4 [sic] -year-old daughter, Frances, and then took his own live Nov. 2, died Thursday morning at the Henry County Hospital. Mrs. Callaway was 77 years old and was a native of Lewisville. Her parents were Robert and Alice Hall. Officers who investigated the killing and suicide stated that they believe Callaway shot his daughter himself because of his despondency over the critical illness of his wife. Mrs. Callaway was a member of the Methodist church and the Women's Society of Christian Service. Her only survivor is a 93-year-old aunt residing in the Peabody home at North Manchester, Ind. Triple funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Callaway and their daughter were held Saturday in the Howard & Son funeral home. Rev. A.P. Beals officiated. Burial was in Riverside.
