Leo Tarlton Burney farmed in Kerr county in his early adult years. He bought a ranch 3 miles north of Sonora in Sutton County in 1906 and ranched there until he bought a ranch 4 miles out of Rocksprings on the Brackett Road in Edwards County in 1913. Six sections of this land are stil in the family. He attended public school in Center Point (Kerr Co.) TX.
