Notes

Laura M. Shatz, born in November 1874 was the daughter of William Shatz and Anna Conway. She is listed in the 1880 Census in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana at age 5 in the Census with her parents. In the 1900 Census, she is listed incorrectly as the wife of William Shatz, supposedly having married in 1899, but it is likely that this is a mis-understanding of the census taker, or just sloppy work. This is confirmed in the 1910 Census when William Shatz is listed at age 65 as a "widower", with his "daughter" Laura M. Shatz.
