LAURA EMMA HATFIELD
Laura Emma Hatfield, daughter of Sylvester and Angeline Lipp Lawson, was born in Putnam county, Mo., on November 5, 1894, and departed this life April 20, 1944 at her home at the age of 49 years, 5 months and 15 days.
On November 12, 1912 she was united in marriage to John Hatfield. To this union were born four children-three girls and one boy. In early life she was converted but never placed her membership with any church. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed by all.
Left to mourn her passing are a devoted husband, one daughter-Mrs. Gladys Lawson of Green Grove community; and son, Cpl. Leslie Hatfield, with the armed forces stationed at Camp Tyson, Tenn., two grandchildren-Louise and Shirley Lawson; one brother, Albert, of Brashear, Mo.; two sisters-Mrs. Essie Lawrence of Stahl, Mo., and Mrs. Carrie Green of Lewistown, Mo., also nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are two children-Dollie Valee and Letha-and her father and mother.
She was a wonderful wife and mother, who knew and practiced the fine art of a sacrifical love and service. She was a noble character, a splendid neighbor, a loyal companion, and an unfailing friend.
The funeral was conducted at the Green Grove church at 2 p.m., Monday with Clyde Johnson in charge of the service, after which the remains were buried in the Cain Ford cemetery.
