"Larkin ROGERS was born 1766 in that part of N.C. (1792) known today as Jefferson Co., Tenn.; 1799 he was in Christian Co. KY., then to MONTGOMERY Co., Tenn., then Sumner Co., Tenn., then Marengo Co., Ala.. In 1834 Madison Co., Miss., 1837 in Holmes Co., Miss. where he died June 21 1839 & where he & his wife, Elizabeth TINNIN, are probably buried."

    The Larkin and Elizabeth (Tinnin) Bible has been published in transcription in the "Gonzales Quarterly" Vol. 17, No. 2, pp. 50-52, from "Old Bible in possession of Miss Lillah ROGERS, dau. of John ROGERS; from Mrs. R.N. GRAMMAR, 4240 Norwich Dr., Ft. Worth 9, Tex., Sept 17, 1959."

    Among the many dates listed, the Bible shows:
    "Larkin ROGERS departed this life 21st June 1839 aged 73 years 4 months and 10 days."
    That corresponds to a date of birth 11 Feb. 1766, not 1776 as given here. For his wife Elizabeth it has:
    "Elizabeth ROGERS wife of Larkin ROGERS departed this life the 9th June 1839 age not known near 67."
