The Larkin and Elizabeth (Tinnin) Bible has been published in transcription in the "Gonzales Quarterly" Vol. 17, No. 2, pp. 50-52, from "Old Bible in possession of Miss Lillah ROGERS, dau. of John ROGERS; from Mrs. R.N. GRAMMAR, 4240 Norwich Dr., Ft. Worth 9, Tex., Sept 17, 1959."
Among the many dates listed, the Bible shows:
"Larkin ROGERS departed this life 21st June 1839 aged 73 years 4 months and 10 days."
That corresponds to a date of birth 11 Feb. 1766, not 1776 as given here. For his wife Elizabeth it has:
"Elizabeth ROGERS wife of Larkin ROGERS departed this life the 9th June 1839 age not known near 67."
