"3-1 Josiah Owen II3 (Josiah,2 John1), son of Josiah and Mary (Osborn) Owen, was born the 4th or the 6th June 1675 at Windsor, Conn., and died 15 Aug. 1763 at Hebron, Conn. At the age of ten he removed with his parents to Simsbury. … [bet] 1707 and 1710 … removed to a new settlement, 20 miles S. E. of Hartford, in Tolland County, known as Hebron. Josiah Owen II remained in Hebron all his life. … On 25 Feb. 1713 Josiah Owen, Sr. of Windsor, for good will etc, gave to his son Josiah of Hebron the west half of lot No. 15 in Simsbury which had been given to him by the inhabitants of Simsbury in 1692. In May 1713 Josiah Owen, Jr. of Hebron sold this land to Samuel Case, Jr. of Windsor.
In October 1722 Josiah Owen II was appointed administrator of the estate of his father. The will included the following bequests to Josiah Owen II: '50 acres at a place called Turkey Hills, to my son Josiah, now of Hebron,—appraised at 11 L—0—0. 7 acres in Windsor, near a place called Poquonock, to my son Josiah of Hebron, valued at 22 L.'
In his will, dated in 1750 and proved in 1763, Josiah named his wife, his sons Noah, Silas, Amos, Isaac, Josiah, and his daughters Mary and Martha, and the children of his deceased son Asahel (Hebron Town Records)."
