Stearns states that Josiah, son of Josiah & Mary (Merrill) Heath, was the "Josiah" a proprietor of Bridgewater NH. The History of Bridgewater states that "Josiah" was the son of John & Hannah (Haines) Heath. (See this Josiah Heath).

The History of Bristol (NH) recounts the settlers of "New Chester" and includes this statement "while Josiah Heath of Atkinson and Peter Heath joined the settlers of Bridgewater on Lots 11 and 14 respectively." (Musgrove, History of Bristol, p 51)

Marriage

The marriage of a Josiah Heath to a Susan Bennett occurred in 1795. As such, she could not have married this Josiah Heath and be the mother of his children.

Was this the Josiah Heath of "Haverhill District" who married Susanna Griffen in 1743?
