Josiah5 Heath (Josiah4, Josiah3, Josiah2, Bartholomew1) who "tradition says" married Susan Bennett. According to the History of Sanborton (2:869), a Josiah Heath married a Sally Bennett in 1795. There is a record of Josiah Heath, Jr. "of Haverhill District" marrying Susannah Greffien (Griffin) Intentions 5 March 1747 at Plaistow, NH. He settled about 1770 in that part of New Chester that would become Bridgewater. Josiah was one of the petitioners for its incorporation. He came from the area between Haverhill (Mass) and Atkinson (NH). Among the Tax Payers in Bridgewater in 1778 were Jacob Peaslee, and John, James, and Josiah Heath.

Identity

This Josiah Heath (son of John & Hannah (Haines) Heath) has been confused with the Josiah Heath, son of Josiah & Mary (Merrill) Heath. Additional research is needed to separate the record.
