it is possible that the owners of these ships was his son Joshua -- since Joshua Pitman Trefry is also noted as acquiring the 48 ton schooner Matilda in 1820, the 45 ton schooner Elizabeth in 1821, the 32 ton schooner Olive Branch in 1834, the 39 ton schooner Twins and in 1840 the 30 ton schooner Hyena, which it is noted that he bought in the last months of his life -- though the JP the father died in in '20 and the son died in 1860 -- need to sort this out.

in 1813 the sloop Hannah was wrecked -- one of over 100 ships lost or wrecked in the worst gale since 1798 - Joshua Trefry Master and Owner

  3.   "On the 20th March [1784] they (various menfolk, including her father Jacob Tooker and her husband Van Tuyl) left the family, and with thirteen others set sail for Yarmouth, Joshua TREFRY, pilot. There they found the land all taken up; were recommended to Tusket. Found the land there looked more favourable, returned to Shelburne, took the family on board, and arrived at Tusket 11 May 1784..."
