Headstone reads: Joshua d. 9-3-1856, in the 75th year of his age History of Wayne County, Indiana 1872 Page 352 Joshua Meek, also a brother of Jeremiah, the judge, died in the township. He had a son, Jacob, who resides in Center. "Meek Genealogy 1640-1962" by Carleton Meek 1962 page 24 Joshua Meek D29 Chart 58 1780 or 1781 - 9-3-1856 b. Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, moved with parents to Henry County, Kentucky, 1877 settled near present site of New Castle, then known as Meek's Station. In father's Will called Josh, he was Willed home farm, 100 acres, which he sold 1-12-1807, moved to Wayne County, Indiana, purchased farm there 6-17-1813. M. Jane W. _____, buried Elkhorn Cemetery, southwest Richmond, Indiana, marked by marble stone, visited by your writer in 1947 found in good condition. Wife d. Wayne County, Indiana 5-19-1886. |
