History of Wayne County, Indiana 1872 Page 352 John Meek, somestimes called "little John," was a brother of Jeremiah, the judge. His sons were: 1. William, who removed from the county about fifty years ago. 2. Joseph, who married a daughter of John Smith, of Richmond, and resides in Abington. 3. John, who married Polly, a daughter of Jeremiah L. Meek, and removed from the county. 4. Jeptha, who removed west some forty years ago. A daughter of John Meek married John Smith, Jun., who lives in Wabash county. Another daughter married Daniel Fraley, and removed from the county. "Meek Genealogy 1640-1962" by Carleton Meek 1962 page 20 John Meek Jr. D27 Chart 48 1772-1849, called Little John, b. Ellicott's (now Ellicott City), Maryland, moved with parents to Pennsylvania where he lived until 1788, then moved to Henry County, Kentucky, m. 7-1-1792 Margaret Erwin, about 1812 moved to Wayne County, Indiana now within city of Richmond, later moved to Henry County, Indiana, wife died about 1820, in 1827 married Selina Stevenson, b. 1807. 1832 returned to Wayne County then to Owen County, Indiana, buried Pleasant Grove Cemetery, his wife died in 1883.
