  4.   The birth record of Joshua in S1 is interesting because it is listed before that of Lydia Fletcher, suggesting Joshua was born before Lydia, and because it lists a mother named Rachel. One discrepancy would be overlooked as an error, but two suggests something has been misinterpreted...

    The two discrepancies are with Source:Fletcher, Edward Hatch. Fletcher Family History : The Descendants of Robert Fletcher of Concord, Mass, p. 27, which proudly says "The birth of his [William's] dau. Lydia only is found on the Concord records, - the first birth of a Fletcher that is recorded in America." It only shows one wife for William Fletcher, Lydia Bates, married in Nov 1645.

    For Joshua, the Fletcher Genealogy says he was b. 30 Mar 1648. It is not clear where the birth date comes from since it is not found in the Concord records except as cited above which doesn't agree on the day of the month, or on the year (assuming ordered chronologically). S2 says that Joshua was age 12 in 1656/57 which places his birth about 1644/45. This is in agreement with the Concord birth record, and seems to say that the Fletcher Genealogy is wrong about Joshua.

    Further, it is interesting to note that Joshua's oldest daughter was named Rachel.
