On Captain Alexander Barnett’s Powell Valley Tithables for Washington County, Virginia in 1782, Joseph Bucher and Mrs. Katherine Butcher are listed. Katherine, being the widow of Joshua Boucher, had inherited land from him. Thomas Campbell and Charles Cocke are also listed. With Joshua Boucher, Sr. and Elisha Pepper dead, Joseph Boucher became the only known man of record for his generation in the family. FamilySearch.org
