Mrs. Josephine Saunders, sister of the late O. C. Garthwaite, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. L. Hart at Cozad, Neb., Dec. 9, 1928. She is survived by two sons and four daughters.
Josephine Garthwaite was born April 18, 1850, in New York state, the youngest child of Henry and Mercy C. Garthwaite. The family came to Wisconsin in 1852 and settled in the town or Milton.
Her second husband was D. J. Saunders of Albion. They resided in Albion a number of years and in 1892 they went to Nebraska.
They lived in several places in the west and south. Mr. Saunders died in Texas about six years ago.
Two years ago Mrs. Saunders spent the summer in this locality making her headquarters with her niece Mrs. E. L. Barnes in Milton.
