[edit] Revolutionary War Pension InformationInformation from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 6, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. : Walker, Joseph - born in County Antrim, Ireland; entered service 1776 in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he residd near Brandywine, in 5th Pennsylvania Regiment; captured at Fort Washington, taken to New York, released, & entered service 1777 in Pennsylvania company; resided in Chester County, Pennsylvania, after Revolutionary War for about 3 years, then to Frederick County, Pennsylvania, for 16-17 years, then to Hardy County, Virginia, where granted Pension in 1833 abt. age 80; William Heath & Charles A. Turley made affidavit there then, per County Judge Jacob Miller & County Clerk of Court James Carr Gamble; soldier died 6/4/1834 or 6/17/1834. F-S11657, R2475, Note: included in Joseph Walker's Revolutionary Pension File is information on the family of a different and likely unrelated Joseph Walker (1758-abt. 1816) of Augusta County, Virginia and Roane County, Tennessee.
