Inheritance from father who died 21 November 1856: Item 4: I give and devise to my son Joseph the tract of land on which he now lives containing one hundred and seventy-four acres known as the Morrow place adjoining Margaret Jones, James Morrow and others.

Item 5: I give to my son Joseph ninety acres of land on the east side of my home place, beginning at a hickery on Francis Ray's line and running with his line as far as the woodland extends and then with the line as run by Daniel Foust to Margaret Jones line. Provided that my son Joseph pays to me or to my estate Three hundred dollars.

Item 6: I give to my son Joseph a negro man named Amos, about 27 years old. I value Amos at Nine hundred dollars.

Item 7: The plantation i have given to my son Joseph in a former part of this my will known as the Morrow tract I value at Seven hundred & seventy-five dollars.
