In 1770 Joseph, Rachel and two children, George and David, followed Rachel's parents to MD taking a certifcate to Gunpowder Meeting 16 Aug 1770. Ten years later they returned to Richland with two additional children, Samuel and Ann. Joseph was a tailor in Richland, living for several years on a portion of his father's land. He purchased in 1792 of John Lester and Aquilla Foulke, a small tract of land near Richland Meeting House. He and his wife Rachel conveyed this land to Thomas Penrose in 1799. He removed to western PA where he died 3 Oct 1823, and his wife Rachel died 5 Nov 1834.
