Facts and Events
Name Joseph T. Seaver
Gender Male
Birth? Abt 1805 of Taunton, Bristol County, MA
Marriage 19 Jun 1830 Taunton, Bristol County, MA (VR)to Betsey N. Davis

The parents of Joseph T. Seaver are unknown. It is possible that he was the son of one of the Sever/Seaver families residing in Taunton MA in the 1805 time frame. These families include:

1) John Sever (1771-1853) and Lydia Porter (1768-1859), married before 1797, with known children John (1797-1806), Benjamin (1798-1852), Mary (1800-????), and Sally (1803-1870). Lydia would be age 37 in 1805, and there are no other known children born after 1803. A land deed or probate record for either John or Lydia (since she survived John) may list their children.

2) Benjamin Sever (1777-????) and Mary Porter (1777-????), married in 1803. Their known children were Margaret (1809-????), twin sons (1813-1813), Mary (1815-????), and James (1817-????). In 1805, Mary would have been age 28 and she and Benjamin had been married for over one year and could have been the parents of Joseph T. Seaver.

3) William Sever (1779-1869) and Lydia Presbrey (1778-1849), married in 1799. Their known children are Lydia (1800-????), Hannah (1802-????), William (1804-1859), Hertilla (1806-1833), Samuel (1808-1884) and Nathaniel (1820-1821). There appears to be little room for Joseph in this family if he was born about 1805.

4) Nathan B. Sever (1779-1836) and Rebecca Leonard (1780-1866), married in 1800. Their known children are Ebenezer (1801-1842), Rebecca (1803-1828), William (1803-????), Mary (1805-????), Caroline (1807-????), Nathaniel (1809-????), Angeline (1818-1891) and Nathan (1822-1893). There appears to be no room for Joseph in this family if he was born about 1805.

5) Ebenezer Sever (1745-1816) and (2) Mary Beebe (1750-1831), married 1777. Their known children were Nathan (1779-1836), Sophronia (1785-1827), Mary (1786-1802), and Horace (1792-????). If these are Joseph's parents, then Mary (Beebe) Seaver would have been age 55 when he was born, which seems highly improbable.
