Link to divison map of heirs which shows surviving heirs: His widow; Rebekah Parmenter m Thomas Ball; Thankful Parmenter m Jonathan Ames; Jonas Parmenter m Sarah Butrick; Mercy Parmenter m Nathan Jones; Abel Parmenter m Mindwell Briant; It appears both daughters named Bethsheba and daughter Silence died before the division; Thanksfull and Rebecca are listed as widows in 1786.
↑ This Joseph is thought to be the son of an earlier Joseph of Sudbury because they both named their first daughters Bathsheba. This seems to indicate the name has some family importance. (The older Joseph's son Charles also names a daughter Bathsheba.)
Since the younger Joseph has only the one child in Sudbury in 1737 and then disappears, while Joseph and Mary appear in Rutland and have a family of children starting in 1740, it is thought they are the same couple. According to Source:Reed, Jonas. History of Rutland, Worcester County, Massachusetts, p. 123, "Lieut. Joseph Parmenter, and Mary his wife, were early settlers of Rutland, ..."
