"… Joseph Judd, son of Lt. John Judd and Mary Hawkins, born in 1672 (HH 466); and died 11 Apr 1757 'aged' in Farmington, Connecticut (West Avon Congregational Church Records, slip index citing 1:56). …
In his will, dated 12 December 1755, Joseph Judd, Sr., of Farmington names his wife Sarah, eldest son John Judd, Jr., son Jonah Judd, and son Simon Judd. If there are any household goods remaining after his wife's decease, then £60 should be given to his granddaughter Sarah Judd, and appoints wife Sarah and son Simon as executors. Witnesses were Joseph Hart, Jr., Andrew Hart, and Joseph Miller. Joseph Hart, Jr., gave testimony on 25 April 1757 that they had witnessed the will and it was accepted for probate on 3 May 1757. Evidently the will did not dispose of all the outlands and a further distribution was made on 5 March 1793 to the heirs of son Joseph Judd, deceased; the heirs of son Jonah Judd, deceased; and the heirs of son Simon Judd, deceased [none of the heirs are identified by name] (Hartford Probate District, Connecticut Estate Files, docket no. 3104)."
