Joseph Gibbs of Hyde County 13 Aug. 1819/probate: none listed Will Book 4/155 (abstracted) Wife Esther I lend all my movable property, stock of cattle, hogs, horses and all my Negroes during her widowhood, then to be equally divided among my six youngest children: Charity, Betsy, Amey, Esther, Joanna and David. Two sons Charley Gibbs and David Morgan Gibbs all the land that I own and am entitled to after the death of their mother and if they should die without issue then to go to my four daughters herein named (five daughters named above). And with regard to my other four children, Polly Harris, Priscilla Credle, heirs of my son Benjamin Gibbs, and heirs of my daughter Dorcas Gibbs, I give them what I have already given them which, in my opinion, was their equitable share.
