Joseph Evans was born on 16 March 1912 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was baptized on 7 April 1912 at St Brigid's Church. He married Virginia Hale on 27 May 1938. Joe joined the Navy during WWII, serving on LCI (L) 547. Joe left a diary of his time during WWII. Joe worked for Gunther's Brewery, just a couple of blocks from home. He passed away on 19 March 1979 and is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery.
