6 Feb 1737 12th year of George II [Note: this is contradictorily dated, since the 12th year means between 11 Jun 1738 and 11 June 1739. Based on other sources, the year should say 1738 meaning 1738/39]: Bond of Samuel Daniell & Joseph Daniell Husbandmen of Medway as administrators of their Father Joseph Daniells Late of Medway Miller Deced Intestate.

  4. There is a persistent theme in older literature listing Rachel Partridge as either Joseph's only wife (Find A Grave), or his first of two (see below). This can easily be shown to be incorrect by routine research (the will of her father names her as wife of Theophilus Clark and dates of their children (start in 1692, Rachel d. 1717) overlap the births of the children of Joseph by Bethiah his wife (1693 to 1715 at least) - see Suffolk case 2977, Medfield and Medway VRs).
Source:Torrey, Clarence Almon. New England Marriages Prior to 1700, calls "Bethia [Break/?Partridge]" his "2/wf 1/wf?", and in a separate entry linking him with Rachel Partridge, asks if she "did not m. Theophilus Clark?".
Source:Fairbanks, Lorenzo Sayles. Genealogy of the Fairbanks Family in America, 1633-1897, p. 38, shows Rachel as a first wife, with Bethiah as a second marriage, and Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, Vol. 3, p. 1157, says the same thing, possibly having simply copied Fairbanks.
Source:Jameson, Ephraim Orcutt. History of Medway, Mass., 1713 to 1885, p. 469 (and 506), says the same thing, and may possibly be the source of this mistake, being the oldest of the cited sources.
