Joseph Cannon was baptised on 27th June 1733 at Clothall in Hertfordshire, son of Elizabeth Cannon, formerly Brough, and her husband Joseph Cannon. It appears that in 1756 he obtained a settlement certificate for his widowed mother who had moved from Clothall to Hitchin. Five years later he and his wife (who was also called Elizabeth) also obtained a settlement certificate from Clothall to Hitchin. He has yet to be researched after 1761.
