Married (2) ca 1764 (widow) Mary (Reece/Rees) (Dillon), a neighbor living in the Back Creek area, northern Frederick County, VA. Mary Reese was b. ca 1723 at perhaps Bucks Co., PA, d. probably prior to 1796 in Frederick Co. VA (but some researchers say Mary Bridges d. after 1800 in Fleming Co., KY); Joseph Bridges and Mary Rees Dillon married in early 1764 or late 1763 in probably Frederick Co. VA. The exact date of Mary's second marriage to Joseph Bridges is not known. An earlier marriage for Joseph Bridges has not been found, as it is not proven where he lived prior to Frederick Co. VA. Mary Dillon Bridges was disowned on Day 2, Month 7, Year 1764 for marrying contrary to discipline by the Hopewell Friends in VA. ("Hopewell, VA, Memberships 1759-1776"). Joseph Bridges married ca 1780s/90s (3) Catherine ________ who was alive at the time of Joseph's death in 1796 and Catherine pursued her dower rights for many years. Mary Reece Dillon Bridges had nine CHILDREN: of which her Bridges child was the ninth and youngest:
