Several deeds of Jonathan Key can be found in court house of Carteret County, NC including one in which he frees a black body servant Sam Key giving him 100 acres of land.
The ten children of Jonathan Key and Mary Davis are: Jonathan Key, Jr., Jane Key, Rebecca Key, Solomon Key, Clarkey Key, Amos J. Key, Logan Davis Key, Tamar Key, Joseph Key, and Ann Key. Jonathan Key and second wife Ann West Johns had no children.
