The Gloucester Bible Society originated at Woodbury 20 April 1816. This became a part of the American Bible Society on 29 April 1816, and Jonathan Brown was appointed as agent for Deptford.

Executors to sell personal estate and real estate in Gloucester County, pay debts and give everything left to wife. Executors to sell real estate in Tyoga County, New York State, $800 to wife. All in lieu of dower. Son Joseph $25.00. Since when sons John and Josiah first settled in the world I gave them property amounting in value to $2000 ($1000 each), this will stand as their share in my estate. To son Charles $1000 to make him equal to his brothers. All remaining monies from the sale of real estate in Tioga County, New York State to be distributed as follows: John, Josiah, Charles, Sarah and Lydia Brown and Mary Mickle, share and share alike. Mary to have $100 less. Executors Charles Brown and George Mickle for Gloucester County settlement of estate; John and Josiah Brown, executors for settlement of New York State property. Witnesses Samuel R. Brown, Jonathan Packer, John Packer. Proved January 15, 1824.

  15. I Jonathan Brown of the Township of Deptford County of Gloucester and State of New Jersey neing of sound mind and memory do make and publish this for my last will and testament.
    1st I give and bequeath unto my wife my watch and three beds and bedding all of her own choosing
    2nd I ?? my Executors to ?? the Remains of my Personale estate together with my Real Estate in the County of Gloucester and the monies arising from the sale thus to be appropriated to the payment of my just debts and the surplus money if any I five and bequeath to my said wife.
    3d I ?? my Executors to sell all my Real Estate situate and laying in the County of Tioga and State of New York and the monies arising from the sales thus to be disposed of in the following manner Viz I give and and bequeath unto my aforesaid wife eight hundred dollars of said oney all of which bequests I give to her in lieu of her Right of Dower in my Estate
    4th I give unto my son Joseph twenty five dollars
    5th and whereas when my two sons John and Josiah first settled in the world I gave them property amounting in value to two thousand dollars that is one thousand dollars each which said one thousand dollars each ?? to them as part of their shares of in and to my Estate, I therefore give and bequeath unto my son Charles one thousand dollars to make him equal with my two aforesaid sons John & Josiah
    6th all the remaining part or ?? of the monies arising form the aforesaid sales of my Real Estate laying in the County of Tioga State of New York as aforeasid to be equally divided amongst my children as follows viz John, Josiah Charles Sarah and Lydia Brown and Mary Mickle share and share alike excepting my daughter Mary Mickle who is to have one hundred dollars less for her share than the rest of my aforesaid children,
    Lastly I appoint Charles Brown and George Mickle esecutors of this my last will and testament in dispoising of my estate both real and Personal in the County of Gloucester and Joh and Josiah Brown executors of this my Last will and testament in disposing of my Estate in the State of New York.
    In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of the first month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four.

    Tioga County Be it remembered that on the tenth day of September one thousand eight hundred and twenty four personally appeared before me Robert lawrence Squire Surogate of the County of Tioga, Samuel R. Brown of the subscribing witness to the ?? will being duly affirmed according to the law upon his solemn affirmation saith that he said Jonathan Brown the testator herein named sign and seal the same and heard him publish pronounce and delcare the same to be his Last will and testament and at the doing thus the said testator was of sound disposing mind and memory as far as he knows and as he truly believes and that Jonathan Parker John Parker the other subscribing witnesses were present at the same time and subscribed their names thereto as witnesses together with this affirmation in the presence of the testator and of each other
