  2. The death date of 1763 comes from Source:Brigham, Willard Irving Tyler. History of the Brigham Family : A Record of Several Thousand Descendants of Thomas Brigham the Emigrant, 1603-1653, Vol. 2, p. 52, which gives this date in passing with no notice that it differs from the date given in Vol. 1, p. 103. Volume 1 gives the death date of 4 Jan 1768, which is clearly a mixup with his father, since the Marlborough records attaches an age at death of 94. Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts repeats the 1768 error, while Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Genealogical History of the Rice Family : Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice and the Marlborough records have no information on his death or his wife's death. Jonathan was mentioned in his father's will of 1757, and no change was made in the codicil of 1762. It is not clear, however, that his death would have justified a new will or codicil as he received only a token bequest of 8 shillings, having received his portion earlier, but certainly there is no evidence there that the son had died. It is hard to feel confident that any of these dates have any true basis.
