Catalog Description: Deacon Edmund Rice (ca. 1594-1663) came from Barkhamstead, Hertfordshire, England and settled in Sudbury, Massachusetts in 1638 or 1639. He married Tamazine (d. 1654) and they had twelve children. He married Mercie (Hunt?) Brigham, widow of Thomas Brigham, in 1655 and had five more children. Descendants lived in New England, Iowa, Georgia, New York, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and elsewhere.
