Of the several men named Jordan born in Essex County, Virginia in the early 1700s, Jonas, b. 1725, seems most likely to be son of William and Rachel (Meador) Jordan. He followed the Meador migrations into Caroline, Amelia and Bedford Counties and had various dealings with the Meador family.
Jason bought and sold land in Amelia County (Deed Book 5, p. 303, 25 Jun 1755; Deed Book 6, pp. 72 and 109, 1757) before moving to Bedford County, Virginia where he died in 1785.
