I think he was called Preston and that he is buried at the Underwood Cemetery in Mt. Hope. I found a Preston and Sarah Wright listed in the index of this cemetery. No dates were listed in the index. I'm not certain that this is John James Preston Wright and his wife Sarah, but it seems highly likely. Unfortunately, the directions to the cemetery clearly stated that you need a local guide to get to the site as it is a very "difficult cemetery to get to." Grandma tells me that Preston and Sarah are buried in Fayette County on Garden Ground Mountain. This might be the same cemetery as the Underwood Cemetery is on Garden Ground Road.

Per Grandma, John James Preston and wife Sarah lived on the Garden Ground and raised James H. Wright there.

I found two different birth dates for Preston Wright. One is listed on a family bible page (that of the marriage certificate of John J. P. Wright and Sarah C. Wright) as Sept. 27, 1851 in Nelson County, Virginia. Since this was likely their own bible and written by one of them I trust this date more than that from the other source, namely a handwritten sheet of notes that I copied in the summer of 2004. The original source of its information was unclear. It listed John James Preston Wright's birthdate as September 27, 1856 and his death date as September 2 (not 12), 1917.
