    John Woodward of Reading [note: no parents identified], m. (1) 7 Jul 1686 Sarah Bancroft, m. (2) 29 Jan 1699/00 Margaret Leman.

  3. Source:Eaton, Lilley. Genealogical History of the Town of Reading, Mass, p. 127, confuses this John with a John Woodward of Newton. Records show they are two different people, and John of Newton did not move "from Newton to Reading", but lived his whole life in Newton as seen by the births of his children. This John's marriage to Sarah in 1686 clearly overlaps with the marriage of John of Newton to Rebecca Robbins, so one man could not have married both as Mr. Eaton says.
