Notes

From Ancestry Message Board:
There were TWO JOHN WILSON'S in Old Frederick County, Virginia. The John Wilson who married Mary Marquis and was involved with that family and with the Glass family was NOT THE SAME MAN. Many have confused the two and combined them into one man. They were two separate John Wilsons.
John Wilson was married first to ___ (name currently unknown) and second to JANE ___(surname currently not proven). He had three sons and one daughter by his first wife and ten children by his second wife Jane. The names of his children lean me towards the belief that the family was in some way connected possibly to the following families: Van Metre, Strode, Swearingen. His fourteen children's names were: EDWARD, WILLIAM, JAMES, ELEANOR, JEREMIAH, JACOB, ELIZABETH CLAWSON, MARY JONES, SARAH, JOHN, THOMAS, LATTICE, DANIEL, and ISAAC WILSON. Children who moved to Kentucky were definitely involved with the Strode and Swearingen families.
John Wilson was one of seventy families who came to Old Frederick County, Virginia with Alexander Ross and Morgan Bryan who had come from the Chester County, Pennsylvania area. It would appear that he was a Quaker
