"John Tully (Nicholas, John), baptised with his sister, Martha, in Horley, Surrey, 20 Oct. 1605, buried there, 14 June 1644. … John Tully drew his will, 11 June 1644. He gave to the poor of the parish of Horley; to his brother William Tully, £50 to be raised from the rents of a place called Featheridge; placed the residue of his lands in the hands of his brother William Tully and George Kerrall as overseers, ordering the rents to be paid to his wife until his daughter was ten years old, then rents to remain in overseers' hands until they amounted to £50, after which they were to go to the widow for life, but, if she should die, then to be held by overseers to educate his daughter; to brother William, a gift; to sister Martha, a gift; to son John then aged about six, personal property: residue to wife Sarah until son John be of age.
