Tuggle, John - entered service 1779 in Virginia unit; later entered service abt. 1781, resided near Virginia/North Carolina line, in North Carolina unit; died 3/27/1823 age 68 in Smith County, Tennessee; married (1) ? during Revolutionary War & had 1 child by her; married (2) 1784 to Sarah Bradford, Granville County, North Carolina; they resided for many years in Smith County, Tennessee, where Sarah died 1/6/1846; soldier & Sarah had large family of children; eldest being Elizabeth "Betsey" born 10/10/1785 (dec'd in 1854); 4 other children born before 1794; surviving children in 1854: Sarah "Sally" Alvis (9th child age then 50); Mary "Polly" Fuller, Fannie Anderson & Martha "Patsey" Palmer age 53; daughter Sarah "Sally" applied for Pension then for self & her sisters; Pension Application rejected, insufficient proof of service; Isham Fuller (no kinship given) made affidavit there then age 74. F-R10745, R2422.
