[Source: The record of the family of John and Agnes (Bell) Summers of Kentucky was copied from a book entitled "An Essay on Slavery and Commerce of the Human Species Especially the African" which had been presented to John, by the publisher, David Barrow. The entire record was written into the book about 1817, being transcribed from a much mutilated and worn book in which the entries were originally made. The record was copied into the records of the U. S. Pension Bureau, and the volumes returned in 1879 to W. S. Summmers, son of Jesse, Parkville, Platte Co. Mo].
