    Note: With 2 children younger than him (Mary, age 2, and Purley, age 3/12), he clearly wasn't born in 1859.

  3.   It is assumed that his birth year is incorrect in the 1900 census and should be 1855. The records that are still available today are copies from originals that were destroyed, so this could easily be a transcription error (with the age calculated based on the error). He is listed before his brother Pressley (born 1860), which usually indicates that he was older.
