John Smith, son of John and Dorothy (Brooke) Smith, was a native of Calvert County, Md. He was married to Jane Brooke, a daughter of Leonard and Ann (Boarman) Brooke. Leonard Brooke was a son of the Hon. Baker Brooke, of "De La Brooke Manor," and his wife, Ann Calvert, daughter of Leonard Calvert, the first Governor of the province of Maryland, son of Sir George Calvert, First Lord Baltimore. ...
